Show The Stars Belong to Us
The Stars Belong to Us is a science fiction and narrative role-playing game intended for one or two players, who will play two completely different roles. You can choose to be the Traveler, a human being who goes on a journey among the stars and notes it down in their journal, or become the Archaeologist, a creature who finds an ancient journal that belonged to an extinct race (humans, to be exact) and decides to study it in order to understand more about it.
Specifically, this volume contains two different interconnected journaling games that can be played either in succession or independently. If you don’t have someone to play with, here you can find Traveler journals waiting for their Archaeologist.
A slim but insightful handbook.
As Traveler, you will write the pages of your character's diary: its creation is inspired by inputs that will be randomly generated from die rolls. As Archaeologist, you will be a nonhuman creature living in an unspecified time in the future, read fragments of a diary and recreate its history by combining the information gathered from it and those in your possession.
Find a meaning.
The Traveler character writes a complete journal, according to what the dice will indicate. The Archaeologist will find these very pages. The Archaeologist's task is to understand the human species by studying the very few things space and time have not swallowed. Not everything he reads will make sense to him, but he has to find an explanation.
An official app for expanding the game.
Journaling games are built around journal writing and designed to be played solo. The Stars Belong to Us aims to create a community of Travelers and Archaeologists through its official app: there, you can find all the journals created by users and you can participate firsthand by playing them, uploading your own, giving ratings. Because visiting space means discovering new stories and interpreting the words of beings who have never been known.
